Boba - WRAP

There is nothing better than holding your baby against your skin for hours at a time. However, believe it or not, even a tiny baby can get heavy and let's face it, sometimes things need to get done... this is when babywearing comes in.
What better way to keep your little one close to you all day than to wrap her up ON you?!

Boba introduces a beautiful way to keep your babe close.

There is nothing cozier, especially in those beginning weeks, than a nice, soft, stretchy wrap.  You know how you always seem to reach for your awesome, broken-in, well-loved hoodie from your high school days?? This is THAT kind of wrap. What could be more comforting for both you and your baby than snuggling up in a wrap that reminds you of that perfect hoodie?!
The perfect amount of stretch, cottony softness, and, I swear, love weaved right in.

Boba wraps come in a variety of bright, and beautiful colours, and even two prints, like the awesome one pictured above, so it is easy to find a wrap for every outfit and occassion.

I absolutely loooove the bright PINK one. SO fun.

OH.
How have I not even mentioned, that the Boba wrap is SO affordable, too!!?
Like, under $55 for the regular, affordable.
So you can totally justify purchasing a few in different colours!
Like it in green? Go for it. Like it in black, too? Hey, why not??
Why not grab a few... you know, in case baby throws up on one, oh and one to keep in the car... oh and one to keep at grandma's house... can you see why I have a stash?? hehe.
This is going to be my go-to gift for all future baby-showers.
How can you say no to an awesome $55 present that is going to last from birth to 18months?!?
Uh-oh, now that I mentioned that on the internet I am going to get baby shower invites left and right.
Good thing I love babies.

Me wearing my BFF's 4 week old.

A long wrap can be intimidating at first.
To be honest, I remember when my first was born saying to someone,
"Ummmm why would you EVER want THAT much fabric. That is just plain silly."
Yep. It's true.
Now look at me?! hahaha I'm on baby #3 and have a stash piled up in my living room of wraps and carriers that I use EVERY day.
That says something.

Once you sit down... err stand up.. and actually TRY a wrap a few times you soon realize it is not as hard as it looks.

SO easy to follow.

*Remember to try new carries with a spotter, or over a soft surface such as your bed.*

I love that Boba has included some quick tips, even for veteran babywearers, since the Boba wrap IS just a tiny bit different than other wraps on the market (tips stolen from: here)

  • Tying the wrap snug against your body when you put on the wrap will ensure that your baby is carried higher and will be more comfortable for the both of you. It shouldn’t feel bulky or loose, yet at the same time shouldn’t be so tight that it’s uncomfortable!
  •  So the biggest point is: It’s not necessary to leave extra space for your baby to fit inside as the fabric is actually intended to stretch over your baby for added support and comfort.
  • Some tips to help you get the perfect fit: The shoulder pieces that are crossed in front of your body should be clinging to you so that when you retract them they bounce back against your chest. If the fabric is hanging and not clinging, it’s not tight enough! The shoulder pieces should actually have to be pulled away from you to get your baby inside.
  • It should look like there is no way that your baby will fit in there! Another thing that you can do to ensure proper support is to ensure that you cross the wrap high on your chest. In step 5 of “Putting On Your Boba Wrap,” when you cross the two pieces of fabric to create the “x” that your supports your baby, the pieces should cross each other above your sternum (where your ribs meet). Basically the higher the “x” is, the higher your baby will be carried.

Your baby should look like this inside the wrap *and in any carrier*
    Knee to knee
    Close enough to kiss
    Knees higher than bum
    Up high, tight and secure
Babywearing when done properly is the most amazing bonding experience for both you and your little babe FROM BIRTH. Sure, some people are going to give you funny looks, but there are way more people out there that are going to look at you both and say awwwwwwww.
Really, when you look back in 10-15years, are you really going to wish that you held your baby less??
    No. I didn't think so.
I am actually typing this entire blog post whilst wearing my baby #3, Pumpkin, in our trusty Gray, Boba wrap... and she just fell asleep.
Ahhh. Nothing sweeter than a baby's breath on your chest as they nap on you.
(Though I could do without those tiny talon-like fingernails scratching up my chest ;))
